An English-language trailer for the sequel to Disney’s hit animated film “The Lion King” is on its way.
The trailer for “The King of Red Lions,” based on the book by Oscar-winning author Michael Crichton, features an appearance by the titular character.
The film, which opens in theaters on April 10, will also feature a reprise of the original song “I Can’t Get Enough” by the group of dancers who appeared in the film.
“We wanted to do something a little bit different,” said David Nesmith, a producer for the film and one of the movie’s writers.
“The first one was a little different, the second one was more of a homage to the book, the third one was just something completely new.”
The original song was “I Couldn’t Believe I Was Alone,” which has become a classic of the Disney musical.
Crichtons version, “I Am the King,” was written by J.K. Rowling, the author of “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” and the song has been used by artists including Beyonce, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and The Weeknd.
The trailer for Disney’s sequel is part of an effort by Disney to expand its presence in Asia and the Middle East.
In the past year, Disney has been heavily courting the Middle Eastern and Asian markets, and has begun promoting its upcoming “Beauty and the Beast” movie in China and the Philippines.
In May, Disney announced that it will release its latest animated feature, “The Jungle Book,” in both China and Japan.
Disney also is promoting the release of “Beautiful Planet,” its latest feature film about a planet that is a major hub for the growth of the planet.
