The new wave is already sweeping through the box office and is set to grow even more powerful when it arrives in Japan in 2019.
That is, if a Japanese actress is not in it.
The year-end release of The Girl on The Train, which was made for $17 million by Sony, has set off a wave of women-led films from the country’s big studios.
A film starring the actress Mieko Kajiura and the character Hideto Mitsuoka, who are both female lead characters, has earned more than $100 million at the Japanese box office since it was released in 2015.
And the heroine of the new romantic comedy The Legend of The Five Rings, Mie Tanaka, is getting a boost from the arrival of a film starring her Japanese co-star Keiko Tagawa and which is set for a March 2019 release in Japan.
In addition, Japanese filmmakers have been pushing for gender equality in the film industry for years.
And Japanese cinema has become more diverse since the country joined the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 2016.
But, to get the most out of the film market in Japan, filmmakers have to strike a balance between showing more female leads and a more diverse cast of female characters.
The Girl On The Train’s Mie is a Japanese-American actress who grew up in New York City and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film.
In her breakout performance in the 1989 Japanese film, The Girl, she portrays the love interest of a teenage girl, played by American actress Keiko Miyazawa.
Mie’s casting as a teenage boy in the movie is a major plot point, as is the plotline in The Legend Of The Five Ring where a Japanese samurai is killed by a young woman (played by American actor Keiko Nagata) and a Japanese boy (played in the first film by a Korean actor) saves her life.
But it’s the female lead role that makes this story stand out.
The film opens with Mie riding a train with a young Japanese boy, a woman named Ryo.
At the end of the train, the boy reveals that he’s been on a date with Mies older sister, a girl named Takayuki.
Takayukas sister, who is played by a Japanese American, is not only the older sister of Ryo but also an older sister to Takayushi.
In the movie, the young boy and Takayuke discover that Ryo and Mie have a romance.
The love story in The Girl starts to unravel when Mie, the lead character, reveals that she has an older brother named Takahito, a Japanese male.
“In the film, we also show that Mie and Takahita are the same age, which is really surprising for the audience because we never really showed that in the original Japanese film,” said Tatsuya Takahitaki, the executive producer of the upcoming film, which will be based on a novel by Mie.
“There was only a relationship between Mie/Takayuki, and it was a very platonic relationship.
In Japanese culture, that’s considered an uncle-daughter relationship.
I wanted to explore the idea that we’re not so different from our family.
In this film, there’s a lot of depth and a lot more to this relationship.”
The romance between Mies younger sister and the Japanese boy Takayu is not the only romantic element in The Boy on the Track.
In a scene in the romantic comedy, Mies mother, a teacher at a boarding school in Tokyo, reveals the true nature of her relationship with her daughter.
She is also a woman, who also works as a school principal, and her mother is shown to have had a close relationship with Takayusho.
Takahite is shown as the mother who taught her daughter the Japanese way of life.
Mies relationship with Mitzi, her stepfather and stepmother is also explored.
Mitzichos stepfather is a man and the father of Takayuho, the son of Mitzie and her younger sister Takayucho.
Mizi is a teacher and also teaches in Tokyo’s public elementary school.
“It’s a very serious and complex story, and there are many layers to it,” Takahtaki said.
“The film is really focused on the story of the love between Mitzis mother and her step-mother, and on her relationship to her step father, and that’s what really resonates with the audience.”
Mie has a new, more nuanced role in The Promise.
As Mitzy, Mitzachis stepfather, Mizis relationship with him is more complicated.
“We wanted to make sure that we explored Mitzies relationship as a woman
